This actually looks pretty interesting to me. I'm doing salmon on Sunday but with a marinade. This one will be next on my list. I really like the idea of crunch on the outside and smooth on the inside.

Thanks for hosting the carnival. I tried to upload the veggie carnival logo, but it was some kind of file that wouldn't work with wordpress. Oh well, I wil stay tuned for future carnivals. Such great recipes!

Ah! This reminds me of the "Pizza Fiorentina" I had for lunch yesterday! "Pizza Fiorentina" is a traditional Italian pizza made with spinach and egg. A tip if you want to go out for pizza: find a pizza place that serves Pizza Fiorentina (many in London do), and ask for it without the cheese. That's what I did yesterday and it was fabulous.

I found this dairy-free recipe for it...

Hi kitchenetta, I'm glad you enjoyed the carnival! Clam chowder is one of the few "meat tastes" I miss since going veggie. In never occurred to me to try to reproduce it. Thanks for sharing with us! And I really like your blog, btw. I eat very little dairy and this will be a useful resource. Welcome to my feed reader. =)

I gotta tell you - that pizza does look pretty darn amazing. I agree - Chef John is great - he's clear on his videos and there's no question. I made the chicken parmesan - I would change a few things next time - i.e. make my own croutons - I found they got a little mushy. And, I would use chicken pieces that were scallopini rather than chicken breasts - found it just too much per portion. The taste however was very good and I would definitely make it again.

The one thing I didn't do - big duh to me - I didn't take any pictures.

The cookies had a slight graininess, coupled with the lemon flavors. This made them impossible to just eat one. The brandy frosting gave the cake the nicest little crunch on the outside, which totally complemented the moist cake on the inside. What a wonderful and inventive chef Gina is.

I see what you mean about unique, these are wonderful. I'm quite intrigued by the semolina cookies, I imagine they have a very specific texture. The brandy soaked sponge cake looks fabulous! Brandy is much better then frosting :)

I too like Chef John, he has definitely taught me a few things.

How times have changed. When I was a kid every mom on the block made casseroles with Campbell's cream of mushroom soup, today it's vegan cream of portobello :) Great tip, I hadn't realized there was such a soup.
